| Description |
English: The Beacon on Billinge Hill A landmark in Billinge since the early 1900s the Beacon was reactivated for the millennium celebrations. There is a trig point just yards to the right of the beacon but it can't really be seen in this picture. According to an 1849 map http://www.old-maps.co.uk there was once a windmill to the rear of where the beacon now stands. |
