| Description |
English: The Giant's Causeway View from the Giant's Causeway looking South West.
In the foreground are some of the 40000 basalt columns which form this famous landmark. The tops of the columns form stepping stones that lead from the cliff foot and disappear under the sea. Most of the columns are hexagonal but some have four, five, seven or even eight sides. The tallest are about 40 feet high. In the distance can be seen the next headland along the coast, Great Stookan. |
